Dark Glass for Gmail changes how Gmail looks in your browser. It does not collect, store, sell or share any personal data.
What it reads. To restyle Gmail, the extension reads the page in your browser: Gmail’s styles, the layout of the page, and the colors used in emails you open. All of this happens on your computer and never leaves it.
Network requests. The only requests the extension makes are to fetch images that Gmail is already showing you (your Gmail theme’s background image and images inside emails) from Google’s own servers, so it can measure their brightness and color. The images are not stored or sent anywhere else.
What it stores. Your settings (dark mode, colors, wallpaper choice, and any senders you chose to always show in original colors or dark) are saved with Chrome’s storage, which Chrome may sync to your other computers through your Google account. If you upload your own wallpaper image, it is stored only on that computer.
No tracking. No analytics, no ads, no accounts, no third-party services.
